Job Overview:
The Crewing Team is responsible for overseeing all crewing operations for the tug and barge fleet, ensuring that the fleet is manned with competent, well-trained, and motivated crew members.
This role plays a key part in crew selection, compensation, retention, and rotation planning, while managing relationships with manning agencies to ensure flexible and efficient sourcing of crew as needed.
The position also supervises a team of two crewing staff to deliver seamless and compliant crewing solutions.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Crew Management:

- Develop and implement recruitment strategie s to attract skilled personnel both directly and through manning agencies.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with manning agencies to ensure access to a reliable pool of qualified crew.
- Oversee the selection, hiring, and onboarding of crew members, ensuring all certifications and qualifications meet regulatory requirements.
- Design and manage crew retention programs, addressing concerns and maintaining high morale.
2. Rotation and Scheduling:

- Develop and oversee rotation plans to ensure optimal crew availability and maintain compliance with rest period regulations.
- Coordinate crew changes in a cost -effective and timely manner, minimizing operational disruptions.
3. Compensation and Benefits:

- Manage the administration of crew compensation packages, including salary scales, bonuses, and benefits.
- Conduct periodic reviews of compensation structures to remain competitive in the industry.
4. Compliance and Documentation:

- Ensure compliance with national and international maritime regulations, including STCW and MLC requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of crew certifications, contracts, and performance reviews.
5. Team and Stakeholder Coordination:

- Lead and supervise the crewing team (2 staff members), ensuring effective delegation of tasks and professional development.
- Collaborate with operational teams and manning agencies to address any immediate or long- term crew requirements.
Qualification & Skills:
1. Professional Background:
-
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in crewing operations within the maritime industry, with a focus on tugs and barges preferred.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate teams, ensuring high levels of performance and collaboration.
- Experience in liaising with manning agencies and managing external crew sourcing arrangements.
2. Skills and Competencies:

- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with crew, internal teams, and external stakeholders, including manning agencies.
- Familiarity with maritime labor laws, regulatory compliance (e.g., STCW, MLC), and crew management software.
3. Education and Certification:

- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of local and international crewing regulations and best practices.
