Job Overview:

The Logistics plays a crucial role in managing the end-to-end process of item requisition, order analysis, inventory management, and logistics operations.

This position ensures that items are procured efficiently, inventory is maintained according to demand, and orders are fulfilled in alignment with logistics principles like FIFO (First In, First Out) and other inventory control methods.

The Logistics Officer is responsible for streamlining the movement and storage of goods, ensuring that stock levels are accurate, and minimizing delays or discrepancies.

They will also work closely with various departments to ensure that inventory management processes meet operational needs while adhering to company policies and best practices.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

1. Requisition and Order Management:

    • Process and evaluate internal requisitions to ensure that items requested meet operational needs.
    • Review and analyze orders to ensure accuracy in terms of quantity, specifications, and delivery timelines.
    • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., procurement, warehouse, and production) to fulfill requisitions in a timely manner.

2. Inventory Management:

    • Manage and monitor inventory levels, ensuring that stock is maintained according to demand and usage.
    • Implement and ensure adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) and other inventory management methods to minimize waste and avoid stock obsolescence.
    • Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts, reconciling physical stock with inventory records.

3. Logistics Coordination:

    • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery and proper handling of goods.
    • Track shipments and ensure that items are delivered on time and in good condition.
    • Address any logistical issues, such as delays, discrepancies, or quality concerns, and work to resolve them promptly.

4. Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of all requisitions, orders, and inventory movements.
    • Analyze order trends, inventory usage patterns, and delivery schedules to recommend improvements in logistics operations.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on inventory levels, order fulfillment, and other key logistics metrics to management.

5. Compliance and Quality Control:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies related to logistics and inventory management.
    • Maintain quality control procedures to ensure that products meet required standards upon delivery and during storage.

6. Process Improvement:

    • Continuously assess and recommend improvements in the logistics process to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
    • Work closely with other departments to identify opportunities for process optimization and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualification & Skills:

1. Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

2. Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, inventory management, or supply chain operations.
    • Familiarity with logistics software and tools for inventory management (e.g., ERP, WMS, TMS).
    • Experience with FIFO, LIFO, and other inventory management principles and methods.
    • Prior experience in handling requisitions, orders, and coordinating with vendors or suppliers.

3. Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, particularly FIFO.
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret order data and trends.
    • Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with inventory management software.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
    • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:
